February 2013
Where does the time go? The dust has barely settled on February and living the Montreal Bucket List of unique winter activities and I am ready to explore more great Canadian fun! A trip to the sugar shack is in order here – and Sucrerie de la Montagne is considered the best authentic sugar shack experience around.
Somehow, in my excitement to share My Canada, I got myself tagged by two awesome Canadian bloggers Blue Snail Travels and The Travelling Mom. Check out their stories and stay tuned for more about My Canada and why I am proud to be Canadian.
Restaurant Week is back in San Sebastian, considered by some to be one of the best foodie destinations! Mark your calendar for March 11 – 24 if you are in Spain…the restaurants, the food, the town…you will be glad you did! Need more info about San Seb – check out my San Sebastian City Guide.
Still working on my expanded Travel Bucket List and came across some stunning Iceland inspiration: What to do in Reykyavik, Iceland? The Antarctic is looking pretty good too. Is that more up your alley? Check out these amazing Antarctic Sunsets by My Destination Unknown. And, speaking about sunsets…Craig over at Stay Adventurous featured my Zadar photos in his Sunset Sundays series. Thanks Craig.
Making plans for summer travels? Have you considered Croatia? Known for stunning, perfect waters…travel inland to check out another national treasure….Plitvice Lakes National Park – over 1,000,000 visitors can’t be wrong! For travel tips: Where to stay in Plitvice Lakes. A Dubrovnik City Guide is in the works. Stay tuned for that one.
Combining travel and fitness is a great way to keep active and keep new year’s resolutions alive. Did you make any? I resolved to enjoy the moment and embrace the world around me (spoken as a true Travel-aholic!) Last year, I ran the New England Colour Run and had a blast. And I am not a runner! This year…time to pick another location! For something a little different…the FireFly Run may have to be added to my running repertoire. Race organizers are calling it the coolest, most eye dazzling, illuminated nighttime run. I am in for 5K. Where do I sign up?
And after all that running, a girl’s got to eat…check out Will Travel For Food for restaurant reviews from Montreal and around the world! For more foodie goodness…Foodie International is on a culinary adventure of a lifetime! Warning…the food photos may leave you hungry! You have been warned.
Blogging roulette topics have been circulating the web. Thanks Lola of Lola’s Travels for tagging me in The Dirty Dozen – more to come on that one!
With February being the month of romance – thanks Saint Valentine – check out MauivaAirCruise’s Blog with a focus on Niagara on the Lake – Canada’s second most romantic city. Or The World Wanderer’s post about her winter excursion to Montreal. Find out why she thinks it is North America’s more romantic city! And for the romantics among us…the newest addition to the bucket list collection: the Love Locks Bucket List!
Well, that’s a wrap for Feb. Happy travels.
Food and travel, you are making it very difficult for me to stay put in Vancouver 😛
Ahhh…it’s a big ol world!!! That being said, I would like to get back out to Vancouver- it has been years!
A bike trek back from Ontario to BC? 😉

Hey Craig…you will have to see the Zadar sunset for yourself…it is worth the effort! I would love to go back. Agreed on San Sebastian too – I lucked out with Restaurant Week – amazing restaurants offering fixed menus at 25 Euros – delish!
