Anita Mac and Travel Destination Bucket List
The phrase – “So much to do, so little time” really resonates with me! I have an array of varied interests to keep me busy, and need considerably more time to do them all! No one will ever say that I didn’t give it my all! So, the question remains ….where to go next? ….what should I do? How should I do it? That is how it started when I packed in my job, put my house in storage and started a trip around the world. This is about dreaming about what to do, where to go, how to do it and more importantly – sharing what I have done!
My bucketlist is ever-expanding. In fact – I have a few! So many places calling to be explored, cultures to experience, cuisines to try and memories to create. Each time I go on a trip, I find more reasons to go back and explore! I look back at where I have been, where I can’t wait to go back to! If you feel the same way, I welcome you to share your bucket list and dreams…….
Bucket List #1 – This is as much about the experiences as the place. Imagine an African safari or trekking to the top of the world’s highest peaks! To me, this is what dreams are made of!
Bucket List #2 – Countries I would love to visit! When, where and how is all that is left to figure out! What about you? What are your bucket list countries?
Bucket List #3 – Cycling Destinations
Ottawa Restaurant Bucket List – looking for somewhere to eat in Ottawa – check out a bakers dozen of restaurants around town to really sink your teeth into!
Montreal Bucket List – unique winter experiences you have to try
Part of knowing where I am going is also looking back at Where Have I been?
If you would like to get in touch about TravelDestinationBucketList – please submit the form below. I will be happy to answer your questions. Happy travels.

thanks for the travel tips! i love your blog…and attitude! i’m anxious to see where/what your next adventures are…
Thanks Whitney – I can’t wait to see where my next adventures lead me too! I see dog sledding this winter for sure! We are still debating where in Europe for the spring! And, as a sun loving Canadian, a Caribbean escape this November! Woohoo! Can’t wait to hear how you do in Italy – if you head down to Naples or get distracted and end up somewhere never on the plans! A number of years ago in South America we let the trip unfold like that – it was a blast! Did amazing trips and met tonnes of fascinating people! Have a great time! Keep us posted.
Hey there! I just wanted to say what a great blog you have. It’s a fantastic read. And I can totally relate on the “so much to do, so little time” front. I gave up my job to move halfway across the world, from New Zealand to Spain. But there are oh so many more places I am itching to see! I’m new to blogging but have been trying to document the journey here: http://miramiandmog.wordpress.com/
Hey Anita, I’ve really enjoyed checking out your site. I’m glad I spotted you on the “freshly pressed” page. I love it when I come across someone who is chasing their dreams like you are. Best of luck to you 🙂
I love getting the chance to read about other travelers and their experiences! Keep posting and safe travels!

Your willingness to up and do what you want to do, see what you want to see is inspirational! Travelling and seeing other cultures is addicting in the best possible way. I’m glad I clicked on the link on freshly pressed!

My pleasure – I enjoyed it!
Incredible, very interesting your blog, and wrote one day the writer Paul Coelho, you never let go of a dream.

Thank you so much Sandy! I am so honoured! I would also like to say congrats on your nomination! Well done! I stumbled upon your blog and am so glad I did – I quite enjoy your posts! Happy posting.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I enjoyed reading your Bucket List and also about your weekend in the Eastern Townships. I recently discovered that my great great grandfather was born in Saint Cesaire, a little town just east of Montreal. So this area of Canada is now on my bucket list!
Cool – the Eastern Townships are worthy of a bucket list. Interesting and beautiful area to visit!
HI Anita
Great blog! Great attitude to life and adventure.
Also love the title of the blog.
I have added you to the blogroll on my travelblog.
Looking forward to seeing where your adventures take you.

Thanks Kim! It is easy to write about the things you love to do!!!
Thanks for the likes. Will drop by from time to time.
I love the premise of your blog and that you “packed up your job.” Inspiring. I look forward to catching up on your adventures and reading more!
Hi Anita! Hope you had a great trip! I was recently nominated for the Versatile Blogger award and was asked to nominate other bloggers that inspire me, so I mentioned you and your blog! You can find more info here: https://6monthstolive.wordpress.com/2011/11/23/honored-humbled/ Have a great day!
Thank you so much Jacqueline. I am honoured. Congratulations on your nomination – I quite enjoy your blog myself.

Very cool. And I really like your pictures.
Thanks.
Thanks so much for stopping by… love your blog, let me know if Sydney’s on the bucketlist!
Pleasure! Couldn’t resist taking a look at your photo from the top of the world!
For me, Sydney is always on the table! I lived in Terrigal and the Central Coast for 7 years – such a beautiful section of the world! Hope to be back in 2014! Just can’t get enough!
Hi! I wanted to let you know I’ve accepted the Versatile Blogger Award and I thought you’d like to see the link. Thanks again for the nomination! Meg http://megtraveling.com/2011/12/01/versatile-blogger/

Thanks – and no, I don’t mind. Feel free to live vicariously! I have been so bitten by the travel bug and just love to share! It can be the ultimate escape and the greatest adventure.
Anita! You are amazing. Good for you for taking a leap into the unknown. That’s something many of us dream about but lack the courage to do. So it’s great to live vicariously through you. all the best and safe travels!
Cat
Hi Anita! Loved your blog and so glad you “liked” my recent post on the Rule of Three.
Your enthusiasm for travel and adventure is really awesome and I like how you embrace an ever-growing bucket list. I will be sure to keep stopping back by to see what you have been up to!
Thanks. You are welcome to stop by any time! I must warn you – I have a serious case of travel bug itis – the desire to travel and explore is getting stronger every day – may be going a little crazy next year!
Hi Anita,
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and checking out some of my musings about life, fitness, health, and travel. You have an awesome blog here and I cannot wait to stop by again. Happy holidays!
Thanks – I love putting it together! So many wonderful places to go, things to do….stop by any time!
Hi Anita. Thank you very mutch for visiting my blog. I wish you all the best and happy traveling. Merry Christmas!
Helio
Thank you so much for liking my Travel Essentials posts – coming from you that’s high praise indeed! Cat
Thanks Cat – you are too kind! I loved your tips – I plan on using the toiletries bag in with the computer on my upcoming trip to Prague! Very clever!
Hi! Just wanted to let you know that we nominated you for the Versatile Blogger, though it looks like you’ve been nominated already (not a surprise 🙂 Great blog, loving every word!
Thank you very much. I have been nominated before, but it is still an honour. Congratulations to you both on your nomination as well! You have a great blog – I have enjoyed reading it. Well done.
Thanks for swinging by. I’ve left you a comment on my blog. Amazing that you get to travel the world. And ride your bike while you do it.
It looks like a wonderful site. I am not sure how much I like to travel. I hate jet lag, I love to walk. I hate to feel culture shock (which is often), but I love foreign cities and language and people, though not so much being able to share in the language. I should travel vicariously via your blog.
Also, Ontario is a place I used to spend my Christmases. Some of our best family friends live north of Toronto. But I have never been to Ottawa. Cold!
Loving what I’ve seen so far – especially your outlook on life! Looking forward to reading more of your blog over the holidays!
Thank you Anita for nominating my blog this year for Versatile Blogger! I finally figured out what it meant Happy 2012!
Hi Anita. In your profile pic is that a cycling helmet on your head or a hat?
Either way you look pretty cool and would be well-suited to presenting a holiday programme of some kind.
It wouldn’t surprise me if you were a base jumper, or one of those people who wear those bat suits and fly down mountain sides.
It is a cycling helmut – did an amazing ride along the Great Ocean Road in Australia. Highly recommend it – shear cycling pleasure! Scenery is amazing and the route – brilliant.
Love your blog and am now following you. 🙂 I totally appreciate your zest for adventure and travel. I’ve kept a bucket list for years and it just keeps growing – it seems like the more I cross off, the more things I add to it!
Good luck on following your dreams!
Thanks. Love the adventures – glad to share them. Will have to pop by and check out your list! I love seeing what other wonderful places people are going to, or where they have been!
Hi Anita,
Thank you for liking my post on the Grand Canyon today.
Happy travels in 2012

I completely agree with the part about your bucket list ever expanding! Enjoy your next destination 🙂
I’ve just nominated you for the Seven x Seven Link Award!! Thanks so much for having your blog, I really appreciate it!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog http://www.urbancurator.wordpress.com
You are so adventurous! I’m inspired to start my own bucket list!
Truly impressive. There’s something both scintillating and appropriate about a Cool Things to Do list that gets continually longer rather than ‘been there, done that’ crossed off and forgotten. I wish you well on all of your journeys!
Kathryn
Thanks for dropping in on my blog Anita! Yours is such a pleasure to browse through, really inspirational. 🙂 Having just celebrated Christmas with my family in the Netherlands, your article on mulled wine in Prague made me miss those happy days.
If you’re ever planning to go to the Netherlands, send me a message, I’d be glad to share what I know 🙂
Odilia
Thanks Odilia! Will definitely do that!

Hi! Looks like another one bitten by the travel bug!
So great to see someone following every dream & desire…
Will definitely keep checking in! What are you travel plans for the near future?
🙂 sam
Hey Sam – plans and desires…wish I could do them all!!! So far, the only concrete plan is Mallorca. Haven’t decided on the other big one – maybe Costa Rica or some yet to be discovered adventure! I am sure there will be a bunch of little hops and long weekends in there! Maybe another mini island get-a-way! Only time will tell! Hope to swing a couple work/fun trips to meetings in Florida. Will be sure to keep everyone posted! Going through some of the adventures from last year’s travels – more to share for sure!
Thanks for spending time on my Photo Blog, I greatly appreciate it. My additional on-line presence can be found at (website) http://bit.ly/dMMwtt, (blog) http://bit.ly/dJnv0o and join me at FB http://on.fb.me/dFOCUU
Keep up your great adventures and come back regularly to my sites to follow mine.
No worries Barry – already a subscriber!
Do you tend to camp or is it credit card accommodation when travelling/cycling overseas?
Just wonderin’, ’cause costs start to mount when travelling all over the place over the years.
I have tended to rent an apartment for 2 weeks when cycling in Europe. There has always been enough riding to keep me thrilled. We have also done a few remote starts as we have had a rental car.
When I cycled across Canada, I did a mix of camping, hostels and motels. I was lucky to be invited into the homes of a few families – which only enhanced my experiences – and as I travelled solo – was great to make more people connections! A couple of times, when I had exceeded my budget, I asked if I could camp in the yard of the motel. I did that on 3 occasions.
You cycled across Canada! Amazing.
I did. It has been one of my favourite personal accomplishments. Will have to share one of these days – just need to find the photos – they are on my old computer and did not make it in the switch from a PC to a Mac!
Hello Anita,
Thank you for checking out my blog! 🙂
Actually you’re timing is perfect as I’ll be changing the look of my site.
I’m in the process of changing how I promote myself and my work.
I just re-launched my website with a simpler look and with more focus on my work.
Now I can keep my blog as a “blog’!
Are you in Antigua or elsewhere at the moment?
Feel free to keep in contact. I’d love to hear about people’s travels.
Hi Anita, thanks for visiting my blogsite. It’s nice meeting someone like you who seems to have mastered the art of living fearlessly. I am looking forward to know more about your adventure through your photos and stories.
Hey, have you finally explored Philippines? Don’t forget the Boracay Mansion. You may love it, too!
More power!
Looks like you are living life to the fullest . . . don’t stop.
And I like your photo blog. Certainly you won’t be running out of photographs with all the places you’ve been. I already know I won’t hit half the places you’ve been, but I can live vicariously through your efforts in documenting your travels.
Oh, yeah; thanks for visiting my blog.
Found you after you commented on The Beauty of Canada in art-profiles.com (http://artprofilesworld.wordpress.com/2012/02/08/the-beauty-of-canada/)
My hubby and I up and left the UK to come to Canada and have been here 8 months now. We are basing ourselves in the Okanagan Valley, BC and loving every minute of it. Maybe not quite so adventurous as you, but Canada has been on our list for a good few years – and now we have done it.
Will be following your blog as you are starting your posts from your trip across this beautiful country of yours. I will be reading with anticipation.
Thanks! Your photos in the Beauty of Canada were stunning – only wish I had taken more time when travelling across Canada to take such great shots!!!! (Mind you – there is only so much space on a bike!!! 🙂 Next trip – I will make sure more camera equipment comes with me – it is well worth it!
Thanks – I do try! One of my philosophies – no sense waiting til your retired!!! Live it up now! Given that my most memorable adventures have been highly active – I really want to do them when my body can really cope! I want to climb all the mountains, cycle the world and just keep on going! I am thrilled t share my efforts and home you are enjoying them vicariously as much as I am enjoying doing and sharing.
I nominated you for the Versatile Blog Award. Pretty certain you’ve been nominated before…but wanted you to know I enjoy your blog!
Hellot Anita, thank you for commenting my blog. You seem to have a busy life, travel and photography go well together. I wish all the best in your future trip.
Take care, Anne xx
Just wanted to let you know I nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award! Check it out here:
http://fortheloveofwanderlust.wordpress.com/2012/02/15/love-equals-travel/
Thanks – I really appreciate it.
I’ve enjoyed reading your blog. I’m nominating you for the Versatile Blogger Award.
Thanks – I am honoured.
Good morning:
I love your blog, as mention on several postings. I am a travel professional, I went into business after losing my eye sight and being on dialysis for 3 years, had a life saving Kidney Transplant in 2005. I hope you read my posting about me being honored on my blog last, week. I would love to get others doing what you do. I would love to do what you do myself, you are an inspiration to me. I can’t pack it all in and sell my house, etc. But, I can help others do what you do.
I realize why you do watermark your photos. But having the watermark run across the centre is a bit distracting for the viewer.
I am still experimenting with my watermark. Thanks for the comment.
Hi Anita,
Inspiring blog. Is there a set path to build up your fitness for this kind of adventure?
I’ve always wanted to do more long distance cycling but am worried i would be totally out of shape.
Best wishes
Duncan
Hi Duncan
The beauty of long distance cycling is really behind the fact that you can just build it up as you need. Sure, there are tonnes of books on how to do it, but ultimately – it is just a matter of getting out and doing it! While I train regularly for racing, when it came to my trip across Canada, I literally got on the bike after 3 months of not riding, and started to pedal. I was able to build my distances as I went, and my body adjusted! Even if totally out of shape, you will find your form as you go. Set realistic goals in the beginning so as to not be discouraged.
Last year I suffered a major accident, and had to build up my strength again. I had to learn to listen to my body. I also found that I could ride longer if I took breaks along the way, so we found we would ride for a while, stop at a coffee shop for a rest, then keep going!
I hope this helps. Feel free to drop me a note if you have any other questions.
Anita
Wow, you’re verve is inspiring!
Anita – Thank you for stopping by to visit my blog! So, which BBQ did you like the best?
Pleasure. I liked the Belgium and the railing bbqs.

Totally agree with you! there is so much to discover and such little time!! wishing I could eat the world in one big bite….(this may not make much sense in english…but that’s how we would say it in México! 🙂 )
Lily=
